Another successful lecture series was completed in 2011 and it was great to hear many of your own stories about Chinese healthcare informatics achievements. We were very impressed by the interest and enthusiasm of students with many facing the real world challenges of implementing successful clinical informatics projects. Lectures for 2012 are scheduled for: - Shanghai - 2 & 3 June
- Beijing - 5 & 6 June
- Nanjing - 9 & 10 June
This year I will be joined by a new lecturer who is working with us in the MHA program his name is Mr Mark Brommeyer who has extensive experience as a global e-health consultant. Mark currently leads the electronic healthcare Supply Chain Reform Program at the National E-Health Transition Authority (NEHTA), incorporating the National Product Catalogue (NPC), the eProcurement solution and purchasing reform. Having spent twenty eight years in the health sector, with significant experience in e-health strategy and change management, Mark is passionate about health informatics reform. He has provided consultancy, project and change management services in public and private health sectors in Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, China, England, Ireland and Wales. Mark is a Registered Nurse and has gained a Bachelor of Applied Science in Nursing, a Graduate Diploma in Adult Learning and a Masters of Educational Administration (Open Learning). The last twenty years have involved managing change and the integration of information and communication technologies to support, connect and provide health care across distance and time barriers. Mark is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Informatics, an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. | |

There has been significant interest in the informatics topic as part of the Masters of Health Administration course. So much interest and positive feedback that we have decided to host a community web site to help publish useful information and tools as well as provide a way for students and those interested in starting informatics in a practical way to connect with each other to share your experiences. We hope that you will contribute to the community here and get involved with others who share a passion for making healthcare safer through the use of information. What are you going to start next Tuesday? |
